October 26, 2019

I mentioned in the last post that we went to Gibbs Gardens with the intention of taking pictures of the Japanese maple foliage, however, they were not as colorful as I expected ... however Plan B, the reflections were great!

Today is Plan C. Various shots that caught our eyes as we walked around. Often, Linda will says, "This would make a nice picture," as I walked past the scene of the flowers with the bridge in the back ground.

The first picture is a quiz picture. "What is it?" "It is a picture looking up into the sky!" Actually, it is a picture taken from a bridge looking down on a reflection in a still brook. Notice the shadow on the left. This is me or a silhouette shadow reflection from above. Also, enlarge the picture and you can make out the rocks on the bottom of the blue water.

October 24, 2019

We went to Gibbs Gardens with the intention of taking pictures of the Japanese maple foliage, however, they were not as colorful as I expected.  We were too early or it is due to the lack of rainfall lately.

But... the reflections were great!  and as what happens so often, if you do not like the composure of a shot, look around.  There may be something else of interest and there were.

Miscellany day of some photos that I revisited for a second look.

The first two are a colored version of the surf on The Marginal Way in Ogunquit, ME and a black and white version.  The next are a few foliage shots ending with one of my favorite airplanes, which was taken at the Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin AFB in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.

October 14, 2019

Last Thursday, we went to Maine for old favorites, like Jackie's Too restaurant.  Linda had Haddock Dinner and I had a Lobster Roll and we shared Lobster Bisque.  The we walked the Marginal Way and the surf that day was as turbulent as we have ever seen it in all the years that we have been there.

The first four pictures were at Nubble Light.  The weather was influenced by a Nor'easter of Cape Cod only without the rain.

October 12, 2019

'Columbus sailed the ocean blue...'  We hiked up Mount Majors ...  I think that we deserve a holiday as well.

We took the Brook Trail, which was described as longer but the easier of the trials.  The elevation is 1150 feet and we have different estimates of the length of the trail; from 4 - 4.8 miles.

The pictures are from the first viewing area that you come to and not from the very top.  It was late and, as it was, the last hour of our descent, we used flashlights from our cell phones to see the trail...pitch black!

The first two pictures are of the trail that was rugged in spots.  Then the views, including Lake Winnipesaukee .  The others are of some of the foliage on the way there.

October 11, 2019

Last week, we were in Florida for Linda's southern birthday... and this week, we are in New Hampshire for her northern birthday.

These pictures were taken in a park next to York Harbor on the way to York Beach with stops at Nubble Light and the Goldenrod, noted for their salt water taffy and hot fudge sundaes.  Then it was on the Perkins Cove to walk the Marginal Way.
