I was going over some very old posts and found this one dated:
November 13, 2012
I re-processed the pictures with the current software and was surprised at the difference. Compare the two photos of the second picture.

Here is one photo that I processed and cropped differently. The last photo is not cropped.

I am not into selfies, but Linda and I went to Atlanta Station the other day and while there, I followed her into one of the ladies fashion stores, which was not impressive.
Being bored and having my camera, I took a selfie. My camera is not one that you hold at arms length and shoot. I looked into a mirror, held the camera at waist level and took the shot.
The second picture is an opening in a barrier that protects one from a construction area. They put frames on the wall to enhance the wall.
The third picture is a train used for giving rides to children. When I took this picture, a security person came up to me and told me that I was on private property and taking pictures is a no-no. I will add quickly that he was very nice and pleasant. I did query him about using cellphone, which I has seen used. He said that cell phones are okay. Cameras like mine are not. I started to ask him about the logic behind this, but decided against it. He was only doing his job.
The last picture is of a reef formation in an aquarium at Linda' doctors office.

A week ago, we had some time in the afternoon so we took a ride the Amicalola Falls. It was a Monday and knew that it would not crowded, that the water was flowing more, because of recent rains, and the foliage was gone, which allowed for a better view, albeit as drab one.
As someone said, "You have to play the hand that you are dealt." Was that Doc Holliday in OK Corral?
Like Gibbs Gardens, we have been here many times taking familiar pictures, but they are easy 'go to' locations, which we enjoy.
The last two pictures are the same shot in that both are cropped from the previous photo, only in different parts of the picture.

Here are a few shots from "Up in Cumming" ... Cumming, Georgia that is. I will post more photos as the opportunity presents itself.
Today, I was in the center of town at mid-morning and the sun was in a good position for these.
The photo of the wall painting of the flag is near by and I added the "Pledge of Allegiance to an duplicate version.

I mentioned recently that I was looking into Fine Art Photography and was trying to produce some. I have come to the conclusion that it is not for me, at least not in the strict sense of it.
What I really like is what I will call "Digital Art.' There are so many tools within the available processing software that can render a photo to something other that that moment in time that the shutter was actuated.
Here are some results of using some of the tools. The first picture is of a daisy that had basic processing. The remaining versions are are result of making various adjustments to exposure, contrast, shadows, haze, color, tint, and others.
I enjoy doing it not only for the results, but for the learning of the capabilities of the software. It is part of my hobby.
I am thinking about having one of them printed. Which one???

It was a beautiful day today and I went for a drive on some of the county roads, which I have never driven before today, looking for some scenes to photograph.
I did not see anything of interest and started to return home only to come upon a pasture that had an old, dilapidated house, a few bulls, and a lonely tree. One of the bulls meandered into the shot of the house.
I did post a few versions of the tree. I had to shoot the pictures of the house from the roadside and could not or should I say would not climb the fence to get into the pasture for a better angle. I was not bullish on doing that.

Happy New Year!
Today is the first day of the new year and the last day of my vacation. I did not usher it in, but it did start as usual between 4-5:00 am. This year started just as the last year ended.
I have been doing some photo processing in the hope to develop a "fine art" style, which I plan to be fitting to the photo. The photo used today is of a window at Pickity Place in Mason, New Hampshire, which is one of Linda's favorite places.
The following is from their website:
www.pickityplace.com
"Since 1786 our quaint little red cottage has graced the hills of southern New Hampshire, seemingly untouched by time. The enchanting cottage was chosen by Elizabeth Orton Jones as the model for her illustrations in Little Red Riding Hood (Little Golden Books, 1948). Today it is a mecca for gardeners, foodies and anyone looking for inspiration and relaxation."
The first picture is 'out of the camera" and the others are different renditions.
